Diner Dash (referred to as Diner Dash X internally), is a 2014 strategy and time management video game initially developed by Glu Mobile and published by San Francisco-based PlayFirst. It is the 10th installment and the 13th release in the Diner Dash series. It serves as a soft reboot of the original Diner Dash. The game was released on Android, iOS and was also playable on Facebook, powered by a company called APP.
The game received more than 10 million downloads on Google Play Store.[3]
The game was delisted from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.[3]
Story[]
The story for the 2014 Diner Dash is very irrelevant to the story from the original game, it concerns with the iconic character, Flo, and her chef-partner Cookie, managing to protect each restaurant from negative destruction and feedback of Mr. Big. The first arc of the story reveals that the real Mr. Big is held captive by his younger brother, Lil Big, who was primarily the minor villain. The second arc goes on with the real Mr. Big villain.
Gameplay[]
It is the identical gameplay as the original Diner Dash game, additional to the mixture of touch and drag and drop gameplay with the 2012 reboot. Despite its similarity, this game features a new cast of customers and VIPs, outrageously diverting challenges, brand new restaurants for payment, and disappointingly interruptible functions (ex. spills, rocket, health inspector, etc.). There is a new currency aside from coins called "Dineros", which is used to pay easier upgrades. Instead of continuing to play levels, the new reboot gives out a set of 3 limited bolts.
The character designs, props, and backgrounds gradually become more subtle and sharper than the previous incarnation designs; adding a modern touch to a classic art style.

- Mayor Prollum: The fourth VIP, formerly works with Lil Big.
- Van Ryder: The fifth VIP, a rebellious rock star. Very impatient and wrecks tables if he loses one more heart.
- Cray Teaque: The sixth VIP, a cleansed man who is very impatient.
- Lil Big: The seventh VIP, and the main antagonist of the first arc.
- Grael Keenes: The eighth VIP, an elderly but fine-clothed woman.
- Al Bondigas: The ninth VIP, a Mexican telenovela star and international sex symbol. He dislikes horchatas, menus, but enjoys chips and salsa and mariachis.
- Connor Carnie: The tenth VIP, a mad-minded minion who works for Mr. Big to wreck tables at diners Flo is currently working on.
- Shirley: The eleventh VIP, a professional ice skater.

Development[]
Internally referred to as "Diner Dash X" in the code, data package folder for the game and by the developers. This may be referring to the game as the 10th installment (not release; discounting remakes/ports) in the Diner Dash series.
Removal[]
Prior to the release of Diner Dash Adventures, the game was delisted from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, simply getting the APK+Data and installing it will not work on OS7+ Android phones as the game is targeted at a lower version of Android (Nougat / Android 5).
The reason that the game was delisted due to suspending updates for its consideration of being a Legacy game.[4] The game was still available on Google Play before its removal, it is also featured on the PlayFirst website with no download links available.[5][3][6][7]
The only known workaround for this is to download the APK/Data and play the game on an emulator running a lower version of Android, preferably Android 5.0 (Nougat) or around that range.
Unused and scrapped material[]
- According to the game's final release (v.1.13.1) there was supposed to be another restaurant "coming soon" but was ultimately never released/finished, there may have been possibly more veanues planned.
- On the portfolio of an Artist who worked on the game we can see that there are unused character concept arts: Myna, Stacy, Klaus and Snailgo.
Emulating[]
This is a work in progress solution, as such it is not guaranteed to work perfectly and may not fully work...
Due to a killswitch (of sorts) implemented in the game server-side, the game can be a bit trick to get working. In order to get Diner Dash X (2014) working, follow one of these methods below (Special thanks to Doan Tuan Khoi):
Manual Method[]
This method is future proof and should work without the need of downloading assets in-game.
- Get an Android Emulator that can run an OS less than Android 7.0 (E.G. Nox Mul-drive feature to boot Android 5.0).
- Update Google Play Games and Google Play Services
- Get the game's APK and Data (Official, [Mirror])
- Install the Game's APK
- Copy the content of DLC.zip to Android/data/com.playfirst.dinerdashx/filesassets
- Turn off wifi in the emulator/android system and boot the game.
Auto method[]
This method requires that the game's servers still allows you to download data.
- Get an Android Emulator that can run an OS less than Android 7.0 (E.G. Nox Mul-drive feature to boot Android 5.0).
- Update Google Play Games and Google Play Services
- Get the game's APK
- Launch the game.
- Once the game finishes downloading assets the game will likely force quit as soon as it loads the first level, turn off wifi in the emulator/android system and boot the game up again and it should work fine.
